Carpentry Apprenticeship Program
Southeast Tech is teaming up with the Home Builders Association and CTE to offer a two-year Carpentry Apprenticeship Program on the campus of Southeast Tech and the CTE Academy located in Sioux Falls, SD.
The program which starts on August 22, 2017 involves 288 hours of in-class instruction and 4,000 hours of on-the-job training. Classes will be held Tuesday evenings from 6:00–10:00pm in the Ed Wood Center at Southeast Tech (building #3 on the campus map).
Safety and OSHA training will be taught by a qualified instructor and the CTE carpentry lab will be utilized for the preliminary hands-on training before the student is matched up with a residential building contractor. This program is open to the general public and funded, not only by tuition, but by a grant through the South Dakota Department of Labor and another grant through the Sioux Empire Home Builders Care Foundation.
