As an Information Technology Security Technician, sometimes called an Information Security Analyst, you’ll be a highly-valued employee responsible for the security of the computer network infrastructure and protecting the network and the network-accessible resources from unauthorized access. You’ll learn how to authenticate users, maintain firewalls, utilize intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and monitor the network for suspicious and abnormal activity. You’ll also learn how to educate end-users about computer security, install security software, respond to cyber attacks and in some cases gather data and evidence to be used in prosecuting cyber crime.
