What You’ll Earn

The South Dakota Bureau of Labor reports that the average wage for Welders is $16.90/hr.

What do Welders Actually Do?
As a professional welder, you’ll permanently join metal parts through a heat fusion process. You’ll learn to setup and safely operate welding equipment for various welding processes as well as be introduced to ferrous and non-ferrous materials and the welding of these materials in all positions and various joint designs. In addition, you’ll develop skills in one of four welding processes, with the goal of successfully completing an American Welding Society (AWS) welding certification test. Your career opportunities include working in construction, manufacturing and repair industries. In addition, our graduates frequently open their own businesses.
