Student Support Service Available at a Distance

Dear Southeast Tech Students,

As members of our Southeast Tech campus community, I want to let you know Southeast Tech’s faculty and staff are working hard to ensure that you remain healthy and safe as you pursue your academic goals and complete this semester. 

Campus Cleaning - Our custodians continue to conduct extensive cleaning efforts across campus.

Faculty Prep for Online Hybrid Learning for Lecture-Based Courses - Our faculty are meeting with instructional support staff to convert their lecture-based courses to an online format, which will allow you to continue progressing through your coursework. You should receive communication next week from your instructors on how they will continue to work with you to provide lectures and assignments as we work to deliver course content online.

Beginning Monday, March 23, all lecture-based courses will be moved to a hybrid online format, and students will be able to access recorded lectures or video resources through our Learning Management System and synchronous events with their faculty through the TEAMS learning environment. The lecture courses will remain online through the end of the semester. 

Academic Plan for Lab-based Courses - All lab-based courses are scheduled to resume on Monday, April 6.  Please watch for communications from your instructors on how lab-based courses will operate upon the reopening of campus. Please continue to check your Southeast Tech email and our Coronavirus Webpage to stay up-to-date with evolving changes. 

Online Student Support Services - We are also working hard to ensure that even if you are not on-campus, you will have continued access to helpful support services such as tutoring, student counseling, advising, and IT support. Remember, your Student Success Advisors will also be “virtually” accessible to you by personal Teams meetings, phone, email, and text message. An extensive Student Support resource list is available to you at the bottom of this email. 

Practice Self Care - As you start to re-engage with your instructors and begin working online next week, please remember to take care of yourself.  Reach out to other members of the Southeast Tech community when you need support, and take advantage of the campus resources available to you even at a distance.

If SickRemember, if you are sick, have health concerns, or if you think you have been exposed to COVID-19 and develop a fever and symptoms, such as a cough or difficulty breathing, call your health care provider for medical advice. Do not return to campus. Stay home and follow instructions from your health care provider. Please notify Southeast Tech of your situation by contacting 605-367-5688.

Tutoring Services

IT Support

The IT Support Center will close at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 20, and will remain closed until Monday, April 6. Remote support will be available through the following:  Online: TASKS – http://tasks.southeasttech.edu - Log into TASKS with your Southeast Tech email address and password to submit a ticket.  Phone: 605-367-4461.

Testing Center

The Testing Center will close at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 20, and will remain closed until Monday, April 6.  All future proctoring reservations have been cleared from the testing center rosters, and you will have to re-register for testing sessions starting after April 6.
