SARA Approved

Southeast Technical College has been approved by the state of South Dakota to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA).

NC-SARA is an agreement among member states that establishes comparable national standards for interstate offering of postsecondary distance education courses and programs. The agreement makes it easier for students to take online courses offered by postsecondary institutions based in another state.

Student complaints concerning online courses and programs that have not been resolved through Southeast Technical College's complaint process may appeal to the South Dakota Board of Technical Education, the South Dakota Board of Regents or the Higher Learning Commission.

Online and On-Campus Associate Degree Program - 61 Credits

Accountants ensure that financial records are accurate as well as assess a business’s financial health and efficiency. In just two years, STC’s coursework teaches you how to prepare financial documents, compile written reports and meet with stakeholders and clients.

As an accountant, you will work on the day-to-day operations of a business, ensuring the accuracy of your company’s financial reporting. You also could be tasked with analyzing data, designing accounting systems, preparing financial forecasts and fulfilling tax services.

Your other duties might include:
Maintaining financial records
Recommending best practices
Ensuring legal compliance
Assessing cost reduction mechanisms
