Daniel Vos started as an HVAC/R instructor at Southeast Technical College in 2018. He has 4 years of field experience with commercial companies in the Sioux Falls area and says installing and servicing refrigeration rack systems in grocery stores was his favorite part of working in HVAC. Some notable projects include Fareway Grocery at 41st Street and Tea Ellis Road; Williquors; Fiesta Foods in Beresford; Pomegranate Market; Cars4Sale; and the Avera St. Mary’s hospital expansion in Pierre.
Before beginning his teaching career, Dan earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in Philosophy from Augustana University, a M.Ed. in Student Affairs Administration from South Dakota State University, and an associate of applied science from Southeast Tech.
In between earning his degrees, Dan worked a number of odd jobs and travelled to South America for 8 months to volunteer at a remote university. Volunteering alongside Bolivian students fulfilling their community service hours helped him rediscover his desire to work in a hands-on field.
He and his wife live in Sioux Falls and recently purchased a plot of land they hope to develop into a community space for environmental education involving gardening, fostering natural pollinators and landscaping with natural grasses and plants.
