Laura Cruse started working at Southeast Technical College in Fall 2021. She teaches Composition and Writing in the Workplace and has a particular interest in supporting students who are English language learners.
Before working at Southeast Tech, Laura worked in community colleges in Iowa as an English and history instructor. She has taught full-time at Northwest Iowa Community College and Iowa Western Community College. When she first came to Sioux Falls, she taught part-time at University of Sioux Falls and part-time at the LSS Center for New Americans. Just prior to coming to Southeast Tech, Laura worked for Avera Health. Her work in healthcare gave her practice with writing in the workplace, especially including data in reports.
Many of the courses Laura has taught have been delivered online or in a distance-learning format. By teaching online for several institutions, Laura has gained experience to help all learners engage and succeed.
