Pharmacy Technician

1-Year Diploma Program | 34 Credits

Pharmacy technicians help licensed pharmacists in retail pharmacies, hospitals or other medical facilities. Your pharmacy tech training at STI will give you the tools to coordinate drug orders, fill IV bags with medication, fill unit dose packages, give information to patients and take prescription orders. As a pharmacy tech, you also will enjoy professional development opportunities and advancement potential.

Where would you work as a Pharmacy Technician?

Hospitals – These pharmacy technicians prepare lab materials, work with IV medications, and clean and sterilize machines. Retail – Customer service is key to this pharmacy tech, as you provide medications and answer patient medication questions. Mail-order – Your work ranges from maintaining inventory and filling medicine vials to updating patient information in a database and prepping compounds.
