  • WLD 104 - Gas Metal Arc Welding - 4 Credit Hours
SPRING SEMESTER 
  • ENGL 101T - Composition - 3 Credit Hours OR
  • ENGL 100 - Communication in the Workplace - 3 Credit Hours
  • CIS 101 - Computer Essentials - 2 Credit Hours
  • WLD 151 - Welding Theory II - 2 Credit Hours
  • WLD 151L - Welding Theory II Lab - 1 Credit Hour
  • WLD 153 - Flux Core Arc Welding - 2 Credit Hours
  • WLD 154 - Gas Tungsten Arc Welding - 6 Credit Hours

Admission Criteria  

1 of the following: 
  • HS GPA: 2.0 GPA - English and Math “C” average or higher
  • GED: 450
  • ACT: 15
  • SAT: 830–870 
  • College GPA: 2.0 GPA - Based on 12+ credits
  • Professional Discretion
If students do not meet one of the above requirements, they are required to take the Next-Generation ACCUPLACER: 
  • Writing: 240 
  • Arithmetic: 217  

Additional Program Requirements

Uniforms  
Uniforms are required for this program and are available from the Southeast Tech Bookstore.
 
Tools 
Tools are required for this program and are available from the Southeast Tech Bookstore.
 
Safety Test 
On JumpStart day, after a safety presentation, welding students are required to take a safety test. Students must achieve a score of 100% before continuing in the program and have three attempts to pass. The same test is given each time, and missed questions are reviewed and discussed. 
 

Technology Requirements

Southeast Technical Institute's Welding program is a Bring Your Own Laptop (BYOL) program. You may purchase a laptop on your own or from the Southeast Tech Support Center.
