Intramural Sports
Intramural Sports & Community Sports Leagues
Southeast Tech's Student Activities Coordinator works with students to coordinate
numerous intramural sports. Students participate in intramural volleyball, basketball,
and bowling, and use city and school district facilities for their activities. Recreational
programs are supported by student activity fees paid upon registration and are open
to all students.
Intramural Sports
Volleyball - Fall
Intramural volleyball takes place every fall semester. You can start your own team
or be added to a team. Teams can be co-ed, all men, or all women. Games are played
on Wednesday evenings throughout the semester with a tournament at the end of the
season.
Basketball – Spring
Intramural basketball takes place every spring semester. You can choose to join a
men’s league or co-ed league. Games are played on Wednesday evenings throughout the
semester with a tournament at the end of the season.
Bowling – Fall, Spring
Bowling takes place throughout the year on Wednesday evenings at Sport Bowl. Participants
can bowl two free games each night with a tournament at the end of the season. Sport
Bowl offers end-of-season prize giveaways to Southeast Tech bowlers.
Community Sports Leagues
The City of Sioux Falls and other organizations offer community sports leagues that
are open to Southeast Tech students.
Basketball – Men, Women
Sioux Falls Parks & Rec hosts basketball leagues each year.
Flag Football – Men, Co-Ed
The Sanford Power Fieldhouse offers men’s flag football in competitive and recreational
leagues.
The Sioux Falls Canaries also host a co-ed flag football league at the Birdcage beginning

Hockey – Men
The Sioux Empire Adult Hockey League hosts two leagues beginning in October.
Rugby - Men
The Sioux Falls Crow Rugby Club is committed to fostering and growing the game of rugby in the City of Sioux Falls
and surrounding areas. The Crow was established in 1991 and is a member of the Minnesota
Rugby Football Union.

Fast Pitch Softball – Men
Sioux Falls men’s fast pitch softball league begins in May.
Slow Pitch Softball – Men, Women, Co-Ed
Sioux Falls offers a number of slow pitch softball leagues. Spring/summer and fall leagues are available. Price differs

Soccer – Co-Ed
Sioux Falls Co-Ed Soccer Leagues are geared to every skill level. Licensed referees
are used and play is year-round on indoor and outdoor fields. Single players as well

Sioux Falls Parks & Rec offers indoor volleyball leagues and sand volleyball leagues.
Individual Sports
Archery
Throughout the year, Minnehaha Archers offers several different leagues. Winter leagues
generally start in early January and run through early spring. Indoor 3-D leagues
are on Tuesday evenings, while indoor spot leagues are on Thursday evenings. Each
league features several different classification levels to fit all degrees of proficiency
and equipment. Summer leagues include a 3-D league and a spot league and start in
early June.
Running
The Sioux Falls Area Running Club consists of members who not only run for exercise
and competition in race events, but also for pure enjoyment. The group supports and
promotes running in South Dakota, SW Minnesota, NE Nebraska and NW Iowa. All levels
of ability are welcome.
Tennis
The Sioux Falls Tennis Association offers men’s and women’s singles, men’s and women’s
doubles and mixed doubles leagues at different skill levels for individuals 19 and
older. All leagues run for 10 weeks beginning in May through August. Sioux Falls Tennis Association
Bowling
All of Sioux Falls’ bowling alleys offer bowling leagues.
