COVID-19 Guidelines for Fall 2021

Southeast Technical College is open for face-to-face classes and activities this fall. With the widespread availability of COVID-19 vaccines and opportunities for students and employees to be vaccinated, we plan a “return to normal” class schedule for the fall semester. However, we will continue our emphasis across campus on enhanced cleaning measures, air filtration in campus buildings, self-symptom monitoring, COVID-19 testing and good personal hygiene (e.g., handwashing and hand sanitizer).

Southeast Tech administration will continue to review the status of COVID-19 in the community as well as updated guidance from the CDC, S.D. Department of Health and local healthcare advisors and make changes to these guidelines as the situation warrants.

COVID-19 Vaccinations

The COVID-19 vaccine is not required by Southeast Technical College. However, it is strongly encouraged that all employees and students be fully vaccinated to ensure we can maintain on-campus activities throughout the year. A COVID-19 vaccination is the single-most important and successful tool to protecting yourself from the virus and its many variants.

Although Southeast Tech does not require the COVID-19 vaccine, some students and employees participating in off-site clinical experiences and internships may need the COVID-19 vaccine to participate. Further information will be provided directly to students and employees in applicable programs. Information about where to obtain a COVID-19 vaccine is available through the S.D. Department of Health website.

Face Masks and Coverings

Masks are not required on the Southeast Tech campus at this time. Masks are optional.
