Students completing the Real Estate Pre-Licensing course must pass the licensing exam administered in order to obtain a licensure and begin practice as a broker associate. Additional steps are required in other states after first being licensed in South Dakota. Approval to become a Registered or Licensed Dental Assistant is determined by each state's Department of Dentistry. Please review the Department of Dentistry's requirements for the state you wish to be employed. In South Dakota, Southeast Technical College's Dental Assisting diploma program is authorized by the South Dakota State Board of Dentistry. Graduates are eligible to apply for registration in South Dakota upon Graduation. However, becuae the state laws and rules do not explicitly confirm our program meets respective state standards, prospective students should contact the respective state board of nursing to obtrain approval before enrolling.

Most states require electricians to be licensed through a combination of hours of experience, exams, and training. Incoming SoutheastTech students are licensed as apprentice electricians in South Dakota. Upon completion of the Electrician program, a Southeast Tech graduate receives 2,000 hours towards their journeyman license in South Dakota. Plumbing, Diploma

Most states require plumbers to be licensed through a combination of hours of experience, exams, and training. Incoming Southeast Technical College students are licensed as apprentice plumbers in South Dakota. Upon completion of the Plumbing program, a Southeast Technical College graduate receives 1900 hours towards their journeyman license in South Dakota.

Southeast Technical College graduates can receive additional hours towards their South Dakota Journeyman License while working in different states. Those individuals can apply for and successfully test to receive their SD Journeyman License which is effective in South Dakota, North Dakota, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota. South Dakota has reciprocity with states on the Uniform Plumbing Code or International Plumbing Code.

Plumbers must be in good standing for the SD Plumbing Commission to provide a certificate of state endorsement or verification of good standing to licensing boards in states with reciprocal agreements.
