Students in the second year of Southeast Tech’s Collision Repair and Refinish Technology
program paid special attention to veterans this past November.
The students in Mike Wendell’s class gave life to the large, iron archway at Veterans
Memorial Park in the community of Colman, approximately 35 miles north of Sioux Falls.
“This project was a challenge, but a worthwhile one,” said collision instructor Mike
Wendell. “The sign is well-built, and very large and heavy, and we only had a few
inches to spare when we moved it into our paint booth.”
The group of students cleaned oil, dirt and residue off the sign and gave it a fresh
coat of paint, which was donated by Dakotaland Auto Glass.
“We were more than happy to participate in the project, and honored to be able to
honor our country’s veterans,” Wendell concluded.
