Dental Assisting Students Hold 'Dental Daycare'

Children at the Scarbrough Center got a very first-hand tour of the Southeast Technical College Dental Assisting lab when they participated in Dental Daycare last month.

Twenty children received a mini exam and fluoride varnish, provided by Dr. Heinemann, STC’s on-staff medical director for the Dental Assisting program. Dental assisting students had the opportunity to assist with the exams and provide patient education by showing the children how to brush.

Scarbrough children also viewed two preschool dental videos explaining good and bad snack choices and how to brush and floss. The children also received a dental goodie bag to take home!
