Celebrating Week of the Young Child
STC Early Childhood Students Take Part in National Event April 2-8
Southeast Technical College Early Childhood students are encouraging individuals on campus to participate in this year's Week of the Young Child, an effort organized by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
To get in the spirit, students in the Early Childhood Student Organization (EChO) assembled activity packets and distributing them across campus.
“Our students are passionate about learning the different layers of child development, relationship building, guidance, curriculum planning and the overall quality standards of early education,” said Loretta Leloux, Early Childhood instructor. “As we celebrate this week, we hope we can encourage those on campus to thank someone who has made an impact in a child’s life.”
Events include:
- Music Monday
- Tasty Tuesday
- Work Together Wednesday
- Artsy Thursday
- Family Friday
Additionally, students are encourage everyone on campus to read one short article per day to increase their knowledge of young children, parenting or general information.
