Southeast Technical College’s Land Surveying and Civil Engineering programs hosted a Land Surveying workshop for SDSU Construction Management students today on STC’s campus.

About 18 SDSU students got their hands on digital levels, robotic total stations and GPS and scanning equipment through five interactive stations led by STC students.

“It is really a great collaboration,” said Beth Kassing, STC’s Civil Engineering instructor. “Our students get to showcase what they have learned in Land Surveying, and SDSU students get to work hands-on with Southeast Tech’s top-notch equipment. Everyone wins.”

Industry also participated in the workshop. A representative from DGR Engineering, a Sioux Falls firm that specializes in civil, electrical power, aviation, GIS and water/wastewater engineering, was on hand to lend expertise and help out where needed.
