STC and NSU Announce Integrated Admission Option for Students
Signing Ceremony Scheduled Jan. 28
Southeast Technical College (Southeast Tech) in Sioux Falls and Northern State University
(Northern) in Aberdeen announced an innovative co-enrollment agreement that creates
the first direct path between a technical college and state university in South Dakota.
A signing ceremony to commemorate the new pathway is set for Jan. 28, 2025, at 11:30
a.m. in Sioux Falls at The HUB on the Southeast Tech campus, 2001 N. Career Ave.
The South Dakota Board of Technical Education and the South Dakota Board of Regents recently approved the agreement.
"This is great for Southeast Tech students, Northern and employers across the state," said Southeast Tech President Dr. Cory Clasemann. "Adding additional opportunities for our students to continue their education, without having to worry about credit transfers and additional applications, streamlines the process in continuing their education."
Starting fall 2025, students from any of Southeast Tech's business programs may take one course each semester from Northern via HyFlex delivery. The institutions have aligned curricula so that all credits meet requirements in any of Northern's bachelor's degrees in business, including agricultural business.
"Northern is excited to partner with Southeast Tech to provide students with a seamless pathway and to meet the high demand for business professionals across the state," said Northern State University President Dr. Neal Schnoor. "We build on each institution's strengths and capacities while providing a strong return on investment of public funding."
