Neurodiagnostic Technology

Associate Degree Program - 66 Credits

Neurodiagnostic Technologists use specialized equipment to record and study patients’ brain waves and electrical impulses of the nervous system.

Neurodiagnostic Techs attach electrodes to a patient to record neuro-electric activity and prepare patients for procedures such as Electroencephalograms (EEG), Evoked Potentials (EP), and Intraoperative Monitoring (IOM). The role of an Neurodiagnostic Tech is to: 

  • Take patient history 
  • Record electrical potentials 
  • Calculate test results 
  • Report findings to physician 
  • Give quality patient care

This focused degree teaches you how to recognize normal and abnormal electrical activity, use NDT equipment, and collaborate with other health team members. Your work might help reveal sleep disorders, epilepsy and stroke.

Learn With Hands-On Experiences 

Before completing your Associate of Applied Science degree at STC, you will complete a seven-month clinical rotation at a medical center in the U.S.  In addition, you will gain expertise in testing methods to obtain quality data for each testing situation, in performing testing among clinically diverse populations, and in troubleshooting techniques.
