SARA Approved

Southeast Technical College has been approved to participate in State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA).

NC-SARA is an agreement among member states that establishes comparable national standards for interstate offering of postsecondary distance education courses and programs. The agreement makes it easier for students to take online courses offered by postsecondary institutions based in another state.

Student complaints concerning online courses and programs that have not been resolved through Southeast Technical College's complaint process may appeal to the South Dakota Board of Technical Education, the South Dakota Board of Regents or the Higher Learning Commission.

Online and On-Campus Associate Degree Program - 61 Credits

Accounting is the backbone of business. An associate degree in accounting from Southeast Technical College sets students on a path to a strong career in business and finance. Accountants work for corporations, nonprofits, government agencies, and small businesses.

As an accountant, you will work on the day-to-day operations of a business, ensuring the accuracy of your company’s financial reporting. You also could be tasked with creating financial reports, reviewing income and expenses, preparing tax documents and assuring regulatory compliance.
