High Demand, Fast-Growing Industry
Demand is high nationwide in the construction industry. In fact, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, is one of the fastest-growing construction job markets in the country, ranking seventh out of 358 metropolitan areas tracked by the Associated General Contractors. Southeast Tech in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, has several flexible pathways to land a construction management job in this ever-growing industry.
Southeast Technical College’s construction management technology associate degree is the cornerstone of STC’s construction training programs. Certificate options in general construction, residential construction and commercial construction stack into an associate degree and are available separately for those wanting to refine and update their skills. For students looking to pair their construction courses with another program, STC offers associate degrees in several engineering technology fields, including architectural engineering, civil engineering and mechanical engineering; land surveying science technology is also available, as are associate degree, diploma and certificate options in welding, HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.
Southeast Technical College is awarding 164 full-ride Build Dakota Scholarships at a special signing ceremony and recognition event today. The scholarship program, now in its 10th year, has seen a record number of recipients for the past three years running.
"My perspective is unique, in that I obtained my AAS after I earned my bachelor's degree and master's degree. I often attest that the HVAC/R program offered me an opportunity to learn technical skills that are transferable, highly valued and well paid."
