Surgical Technology

Associate Degree Program

Surgical Technologists are vital members of the operating room team, working alongside surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses to ensure safe, efficient procedures. In this role, you’ll be responsible for preparing the operating room, sterilizing and organizing surgical instruments, and assisting with patient positioning. During surgery, you’ll anticipate the needs of the surgeon, passing instruments and supplies while maintaining a sterile field.

At Southeast Technical College in Sioux Falls, our hands-on Surgical Technology program builds a strong foundation in surgical procedures, clinical practice, microbiology and patient care. Through a comprehensive curriculum, immersive simulation labs, and real-world clinical experiences, you’ll develop the technical expertise, critical thinking, and professionalism that employers demand.
