Academic Resource Center

At Southeast Technical College, we want to see you succeed. We know that our students lead busy lives, and sometimes need additional academic help with one or more courses. Southeast Technical College's Academic Resource Center offers enrolled students both on-site and online tutoring options to help you get to where you need to be.

Walk-In Tutoring

Southeast Technical College offers walk-in tutoring services to all enrolled students, free of charge. Students that want to improve in their coursework receive individualized attention through Southeast Tech's peer-to-peer tutoring program. Through the program, students hired to be tutors have a desire to help others learn and hold excellent GPAs.

With Walk-In Tutoring, no appointment is necessary. Students simply view the tutor schedule online to see when and where the tutors are working. Students interested in getting extra help are encouraged to stop by when it works in their schedule. The tutor schedule shows pictures of the tutors, as well as a list of subject areas that the tutor can assist with.  Walk-In Tutoring is a great on-campus resource for our students!

NetTutor (Online Tutoring Service)

Southeast Tech students can receive at least 10 hours of free, online tutoring though STC's partnership with NetTutor online tutoring services. Getting connected is easy - log into myTech, navigate to the tutoring page, and click the NetTutor link.

At a minimum, online tutors have a four-year degree from an accredited university and most hold a master’s degree. In addition, all tutors have teaching or tutoring experience in the American education system. Empathy and patience are in the forefront as tutors connect in a meaningful and supportive way with a diverse range of students.

How it Works:

NetTutor uses a user-friendly platform to make connecting to a tutor easy. Sessions are facilitated by a proprietary whiteboard, created specifically for online collaboration in education. The Worldwide Whiteboard provides a large whiteboard canvas area where both the tutor and the student can type, draw, and use symbols from the subject-specific symbol palette.
